Hey guys, so I got to wondering if using just a Windows 10 home edition recovery disk on my computer that I originally installed with Windows 7 home (and took free upgrade) would work if I was trying to do a fresh install. The problem is, I lost my original Windows 7 disk so I got a little concerned.

It might also be worth noting I've done two previous builds and plan on doing another one soon. Last time I just called Microsoft to get it reactivated. I had the OEM version too.

For a Win 10 reinstall, this:

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I was aware of creating backups, but I didn't know if (assuming I was starting fresh) Windows would be looking for some kind of required, missing Windows 7 files or not. I haven't done a fresh install for a few years and had my recovery disk when I did.
