Windows 10 Setup USB: Copying Files... 0%

Hi, I have a dead laptop that I thought I would install a clean copy of Windows 10 on. Created a bootable USB, plugged in and booted to CSM mode to not get a "GPT PArtition Table Error". The partition I want to install on shows 34GB free space out of 119GB. I clicked Next, and now it is stuck on "Copying Files" at 0%. I cannot boot from a DVD as no DVD drive and I have tried deleteing all my partitions but I just see an hourglass forever without the PC doing anything. Please help!

If you still can't install Windows 10 after cleaning HDD try solution 2

1.Make new Windows 10 installation
2.Try new installation
If solution 2 dont't work, I can't help You. Try typing your problem in Youtube, maybe you will get solution.

Sounds like you are trying to install to an already used partition. To install windows on a GPT Disk it has to be booted as a UEFI Defice and then it creates a few small partitions in front of the C Drive.

If you are having issues deleting the partitions you can try using diskpart and clean them.

At the drive selection screen press Shift+F10

you should get a command prompt

then type in this hitting enter after each line. The X is the number of the drive you are installing to. Also make sure this is the ONLY drive installed while you are installing windows.

diskpart
list disk
select disk X
clean

That should wipe the disk clean and should only take a few seconds. if it takes longer then their might be an issue with the drive itself.

Once it says done close the window, hi the refresh on the HDD Selection menu and just select the unallocated space and hit next. DO NOT Create any manual partitions! It will make them automatically

Hi, thanks for your advice. I have tried doing this and it seems that I can click "Next". However, I assume it runs into an error with creating the partitions as again the hourglass appears and it does not do anything. This is starting to look like an issue with the SSD.

Hi,
I have looked into this but I have since found out that the drive is an MSata SSD (PLEXTOR PX-M6M) so I am going to try and use Renee to erase it anyways. I will let you know how this goes.

Yes, that is what I was thinking. WOuld it be economical and feasible to replace the drive?

They still sell mSATA Drivers so that would be your best bet. Will probably have to buy from Amazon or NewEgg as I don't know anyone who keeps them in stock at stores anymore since M.2 arrived.
