I'm getting a new SSD but I want to know how much of the 256GB space is usable, for games and etc, after windows take a chunk of it.

Solution
Base install of Win 10 takes about 20 gigs. After it fully updates and whatnot, just over 30 if you don't delete the update files.

My suggestion would be to look at your current build, the way you have been using it, and see where your Windows folder is, size wise.

Actually... here is the truth... Windows will get the usuable space to 238 gbs automatically without anything installed. Not even windows... Then you'll download and install windows... So the windows will take from 20-25 gigs of space... So they will remain about 213-218 gigs of Free space in your disk!
