Question Windows 10 start menu icons are showing with boxes around them

Recently I noticed that my start menu icons no longer have transparent backgrounds. I'm pretty sure this is new. I'm usually very picky about the way things look and I can't seem to find a way to fix them.

I also noticed that my windows communication apps (mail and calendar) are also blue now along with default windows apps like calculator ect... They used to be grey which is the accent color I have selected in personalization settings.

How can i fix this?

Yes all drivers are updated. however, I just noticed that windows in failing to install this update.

Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2 error 0x800f0984

Update: I did some digging and found that I was in fact running windows 10 pro 2004. I had previously been on 22h2 but a windows update had hung and I had no idea until I tried running windows updates and kept having a feature update fail. I assume that when updates were installed and interrupted a few days ago, I was somehow reverted to 2004. I found standalone\offline installers online and put myself back on 22h2. Windows now updates successfully and my start menu icons are now transparent. Whew!
