Hi,

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and now my Sony Vegas won't launch however when I run windows in minimal safe mode it loads up just fine. I then tried windows in safe mode with networking and it's back to not working!!

Does anyone know which services could be affecting this? Or which extra services are run with windows safe mode with networking so I can try and figure out what's causing this!
Thanks!
Jake

Hello,

You may try the following;

1. Disconnect any external USB or devices like hard-drives or dongles.

2. Turn off all anti-virus programs, as well as disabling any Registry Blockers, Spy Ware, Firewalls, etc.

3. Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features – remove Vegas Pro 10

4. Remove the Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (SONY_MEDIAMGR), any and all Microsoft .NET Framework versions, and the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable software if it is listed.

5. Once uninstalled, delete the following folders:

>> C: Program Files\ Sony Vegas Pro 10 < Delete this file

6. Next, Select Start and type REGEDIT in the ‘Start Search’ box.

7 In the Registry Editor, locate and delete the following registry entries...

7 In the Registry Editor, locate and delete the following registry entries...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Creative Software Vegas Pro < Just delete this file, not the whole Sony Creative Software file.

8 Then go back and go into this file...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Creative Software Vegas Pro < Just delete this file, not the whole Sony Creative Software file.

9. Close the Registry Editor. Reboot your computer.

10. Now install your Sony Vegas software and reboot, it should be working afterwards. You can try as well, after the installation, right click your .exe for vegas, go to > Properties > Compatibility > Then enable "run as admin". Apply and Ok.
