So my PC started to log me into a temporary profile every once in a while for no apparent reason, the problem was eventually fixed when I formatted my hard drive (not my ssd which my windows is running on it).
I'm curious about the cause of that problem and how to prevent it from happening again.

Solution
in the search box type regedit
navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion > Profile List
Under 'Profile List' on the left side you should see something that looks like...

S-1-5-18
S-1-5-19
S-1-5-20
S-1-5-21-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXX
S-1-5-21-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXX.bak

Find the 2 profiles that have the same numbers (one should have a .bak behind it)
Add '.XYZ' to the profile that DOSE NOT HAVE .BAK behind it
Remove the '.bak' from the profile WITH .BAK behind it
On the right side, change 'RefCount' and 'State' to 0
restart your computer
