[SOLVED] Windows 10 Upgrade Troubles

I'm asking here since Google hasn't given me an answer to my exact question and this forum was a big help when I built my PC.

I'm looking to upgrade to Windows 10. I don't have the hardware to support 11.

The thing is, my Win 7 is on an HDD and I'm upgrading to an SSD. I installed 7 with an OEM.

Can I take a Win 10 OEM and install that on the SSD? Or will the licence cause a problem?

Could I, instead, reinstall 7 on the SSD, then create the install media to upgrade?

Try to upgrade first to see if it works.

If it doesn't you always can do a fresh install of Win10.

I haven't had to do anything this technical with my PC since I built it so I want to make sure I understand.

I would upgrade the existing Win 7 to 10, on the existing HDD.
This is to get the existing hardware fully actiated with WIn 10.
Then, do a fresh OS install on the SSD.

And I don't know what "Win 10 OEM " you refer to, but no.
Get the regular install media from MS and use that.
