I own a USB condensor mic (Chord CCU1, USB2.0) which worked in Windows 7 but not in 10. When i plug it in, my "Recording" window flickers. I presume it's trying to load the drivers. Sometimes it will work for a few seconds and record audio in Audacity, and then it just dies and is removed from recording devices etc.
There's no drivers anywhere online but there must be something driver/registry wise that i can do get it working. Thanks :)

Could you please pass on your system specs? Have you installed all the necessary drivers for your system(except the mic since it doesn't have a driver to speak of) including any BIOS updates?

In device manager locate your USB audio device in device manager. Once there uninstall the drivers that were installed by Windows and delete the device from device manager. Once prompted to reboot machine, reboot and wait for drivers to be reinstalled. It might need a couple of attempts(x3) but it should work.

A similar account but different OS

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately this doesn't work. The driver loads to about 90% (viewable in "Devices") and then reports a "Driver Error": http://prntscr.com/9fhguy

My system specs are as follows:
- i5-4690K,
-GTX780,
-16GB RAM,
-Asus Z97-A,
120GB SSD + 3 1TB HDDs (plenty of free space),

(if u want more details, let me know).

All drivers are installed and BIOS up to date!

Yes, 2081 :/,
Hmm, that link is an interesting idea but defeats the purpose of using a (relatively) high quality condensor mic, does it not?

I'm strapped for cash atm, but when i can get my hands on an adapter i will try it.

Thanks!

Sorry, that was a typo on my part. I have the latest BIOS.
Thanks for your help, i will try the adapter when i can!
