My Windows 10 device manager states the my Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller is working properly. I have 2 new (1 Seagate and 1 Western Digital), just out of the box USB 3.0 external drives. I have a front and rear USB 3.0 ports. If the device controller is working properly why won't Windows 10 see them? I am afraid if I delete the drivers I may not be able to get them back. I am looking for suggestions. Windows 10 recognizes my 2 internal drives with no problem. Windows 10 has been a bit of a learning curve. Recognizing the USB 3.0 drives is the only exception to my experience thus far. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you come to the conclusion that the Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller is completely incompatible with Windows 10? If you haven't, you should. I ended up returning a USB 3.0 port card because of it. And anyone else trying to get one to work stably with Windows 10 will find plenty of other people online with the same problem and not a single update from either Microsoft or Renesas to address this problem. Avoid at all costs any host controller driver from Renesas if you're running Windows 10.

I have the Renesas USB 3.0 card which worked on Windows 7 using Renesas driver. Windows Device Manager says the card will not start on Windows 10. Tried advice given elsewhere to uninstall all USB drivers and restart. This recognised the card as a USB xHCI controller but this also gives a code 10.
The mother board is a Gigabyte GA EX58 UD5P so which BIOS revision will fix this?

I have tried two different WD Reds in three different USB3 external enclosures -- they work fine when connected to my Win7 laptop -- but my desktop Win10 fails to recognize any of the drives in any of the enclosures (they don't show up in Disk Manager). I don't find Win10 drivers on the enclosure manufacturer sites. Likewise when I use the external enclosure's eSATA interfaces--work fine with Win7 and are not recognized by Win10.
