Hello,

I was following a guide online to change two registry keys in Windows 10 to prevent the "Home group" tab from appearing in File Explorer. I am 99.99% sure I only changed the two keys pertaining to Home Group.

It said I had to reboot my computer, so I did so, but after the motherboard posted and I saw the Windows 10 boot logo, the screen began to flash between black and white at seemingly random intervals. The mouse also appeared, but flashed on and off as well.

Please help if you can. I'm scared I'll have to format my hard drive.

Those symptoms seem unlikely to be related to registry corruption, but possible IMO.
If 'last known good configuration' booting doesn't fix it, or startup troubleshooter, try to boot to Linux on a USB stick on that computer.

I am trying to do a system restore, but it gave me the error:

"The instruction at 0x00007FF92FDF6B8C referenced memory at 0x0000000000000008. The memory could not be read."
