As topic says: Windows 11 is slower than 10 when it comes to right-clicking and opening maps/stuff etc.
Not a big difference but for me it is annoying.
The games however work fine on 11 (also as long they are well optimized.)
I have a good PC so i dont think its that, but i can share my components=
5800x3d, 3070, 32gb 3600mhz ram, b550plus motherboard. The PSU is also a decent one.
So its not my system. but i think its something windows 11 might have to work with.

Back in the Windows XP days there were countless registry hacks that took what seemed like a slow potato computer to a speed demon.
Things like the start menu how fast it pops up or when you hover something in there, there is a registry string with a set # for how long it takes.

When you have a frozen program and you control alt delete to kill stuck program there is a registry string with again # on how long it takes to close when you tell it to quite the stuck program.

As time went on our computers got to the point of why bother.

So whatever someone thinks was better in the last OS there is most likely a solution.

Messing with your registry is not for everyone and risks are there.

Yeah i think my "problems " is completely normal. Its "computer science " ...
I think they will fix alot of things in the future like this, and fps stutter in games also
For example playing a poorly optimized game. that is always annoying :)

Hello!

In my case, Windows 11 "felt" actually faster than 10.

I reinstalled windows yesterday and it worked perfect until now.
I installed malwarebytes and ran a scan, and it found 1 malware and removed it.
Now the system is slower again... what is this?

((( It seems to be the same if i do a full scan or offline scan with windows defender. )))
Same thing happened with Avast

i can't tell. It never felt any different to me.
I agree besides re finding where Microsoft moved somethings 10 and 11 just seem like same. I do one thing the helps keep me sane with running mutable PC's. My son took the basic windows 10 desktop picture and added some artwork to it and saved.

That one picture I put into the Windows ---Web ---Wallpaper----Windows

That desktop picture is on all my windows 10/11 computers.

So it does a few things for me. It keeps sanity being familiar PC to PC.

I don't fool myself when I click on my fasted newest parts PC that all other of my computers are slower. You forget about parts and what CPU/ GPU your using.

Sure I have my pride and Joy gaming rigs but all our computer will game and it's an eye opener to change Computer on the KVM with some exact game up and running and play exact same area and even the old a-- CPU/ GPU can and does a great job playing.

I find the easiest way to get used Windows 11 to at least myself was to throw that windows 10 desktop pic onto my Windows 11 computers.

It feels more like someone moved the couch vs you moved into a whole new house.

A lot of this moaning and groaning sounds a lot like the reluctant folks moving from win 7 (never mind about 8) to 10. The cycle continues. Soon you won't have a choice unless jumping to Linux is in your future plans. No thanks...

The linux crowd live in hope that one day Windows users will wake up and want to learn how to do everything from scratch again instead of putting up with whatever the next change is and using knowledge they gained from using same OS for 20+ years... in some cases, getting close to 30.

I change my desktop wallpaper all the time, so the only way I remember what Win 10 looks like is opening a VM.
