Good day, so I've tried this new "system" called Windows 11 and when playing a game called Dead Island 2 I'm getting out of memory errors (the VRAM one) after about 5 minutes of gameplay. I'm suspecting the reason for this might lay in the fact that I'm testing this system, and I'm testing it on a separate drive partition that doesn't have too many space (53.4GB to be precise), but that's just a guess that it might be interfering with anything, be kind to correct if this isn't the case
This issue never existed on my main Windows 10 system that's also actually more than a year old. Need assistance in understanding the nature of this issue if whether it's a hardware issue (which I doubt as Windows 10 does perfectly fine with this and other games for me) or it is a software problem, precisely Windows 11 being of fault.

in case you need specs

Your video card doesn't have enough video ram.
This has nothing to do with system ram or virtual memory on storage device.

Reduce ingame resolution,
reduce graphics quality settings,
reduce texture quality.
My GPU has 8gb, which is enough for a minimum system requirement for this game which is also 8gb. And on windows 10 this doesn't happen. Your advice is pointless

Are you using minimum graphics quality settings?
I bet, you're using something like ultra quality with ultra high textures.
im using minimum settings apart from textures, theyre on ultra, everything on minimum and also im using fsr preset balanced. this cant possibly be a VRAM lack issue. and yeah all in 1080p

The error is specifically telling you that it's a vram error, it doesn't get much clearer than that. Just for kicks, try lowering the textures to whatever the minimum is and see what happens. If the error goes away you can increase the settings until it reappears, then back off to the highest setting that doesn't generate the error.

Ultra textures for 1080p use more than 8GB of vram.

What a way to admit you're ignorant without saying it!!! Just do it, had that happen with a system and just had to turn down my graphics. Pay attention to VRAM usage and use HWInfo with sensors only to monitor vram, then start the game and try again to see what happens. Do the same and turn general quality settings down or use a lower preset.
