My PC running Windows 11 Pro reboots by itself anywhere between 30 seconds and 2 minutes after the screen saver initiates (I have the screen saver set to 1 minute, but the PC initiates the screen saver anywhere between 2-6 minutes after I/O inactivity, so I'm not sure if this is related to the problem).

It also does this if the monitor is manually switched off.

This does not happen while in safe mode. It also does not occur with Windows 10 installed on my PC (I don't want to use Windows 10 for multiple reasons).
I have checked the Event Viewer>Windows Logs>System and there appears to be an event ('error' level) that occurs right before each reboot. Some of the information that is in the description of the event is "event ID 56", "application pop up" and "ACPI 2". Here is a link to screenshots of the event information: View: https://imgur.com/a/sdiRHAC
. I can't remember exactly how long ago, but this problem didn't use to occur on my PC.

I have all the latest drivers installed on my PC (from Gigabytes website, GPU one from AMD website) and windows update is showing no new drivers available.
Here is a list of the things I have tried to do to fix it (that have not worked):
  1. Reinstalling windows 11 pro from USB media tool
  2. Running SFC and CHKDSK commands in cmd.
  3. Running "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" command in cmd (this seemed to fix it once, temporarily, but then not the second time)
  4. Swapping out PSU.
  5. Removing RX 5500XT GPU and using i5-10400 integrated graphics.
  6. Using each individual stick of RAM on its own.
  7. Disabling "C-States Control" in BIOS.
  8. Enabling "Power Loading" in BIOS.
  9. Enabling "ErP" in BIOS.
  10. Unplugging my keyboard and mouse.
  11. Installing "Intel Management Engine Drivers for Windows 10 and Windows 11" off Intel's website: https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...ne-drivers-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html. This was a slightly later version compared to the one available on Gigabyte's website that I had installed prior.
My hardware:
PSU: Corsair SF450 Platinum
Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Z590I (latest BIOS is installed)
CPU: Intel Core i5-10400
RAM: GSkill Ripjaws 2 X 8GB CL18 3600MHz
SSD: Crucial MX500
GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 5500XT 8GB
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i
Monitor: AOC 24G2
Mouse: Logitech G302
Keyboard: Logitech G413

Is there a way to discern if this is a hardware, rather than software, problem? Because if it's a hardware problem then I'd want to RMA/replace the responsible hardware.

Many thanks in advance for your help :)

if it doesn't happen in safe mode and Win 10 is fine, its likely a driver

Events generally don't cause BSOD and that one has been around since win 7 - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us.../aed11fed-4475-4a9a-ad87-4320200dc160?page=20 and it could be a Gigabyte thing... I might have it and never noticed.

Does anything show in reliability History at same time as errors?

So it happens on Integrated graphics as well?

DISM only fixes the files SFC uses to clean windows, it normally doesn't fix windows directly
So try running them in tandem

right click start
choose windows terminal (admin)
if it doesn't open as Powershell, click the drop down arrow in title row and choose from list
copy/paste this command into window:

Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth

and press enter

Then type SFC /scannow

and press enter

Restart PC if SFC fixes any files as some fixes require a restart to be implemented

First command repairs the files SFC uses to clean files, and SFC fixes system files

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

it doesn't delete anything, it just stops non microsoft programs loading at startup, easy to reverse

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

Can you download and run Driverview - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

All it does is looks at drivers installed; it won't install any (this is intentional as 3rd party driver updaters often get it wrong)

When you run it, go into view tab and set it to hide all Microsoft drivers, will make list shorter.

Please take a screenshot from (and including)Driver name to (and including)Creation date.

upload it to an imgur and show here.

Just to clarify, my PC doesn't show BSOD. 2-6 minutes after the screen saver initiates, the mouse and keyboard turn off, pc fans spin up and then motherboard logo/brand show up as well as windows loading symbol, then it changes to the windows log in screen, and when I've logged in, the PC seems to be in the same state as if I had restarted it (i.e. all my open apps/programs are gone).

Only thing that shows in reliability history regularly (happens shortly after crashes/reboots I think) is "Windows was not properly shut down". Description: "The previous system shutdown at 8:07:56 am on ‎19/‎09/‎2022 was unexpected". Here is a link to some screen shots of the reliability history: View: https://imgur.com/a/2vZiwRc
.

Yes, the problem occurs when rx 5500xt gpu is removed from PC and cpu integrated graphics are being used.

I have run those commands. Here is a screenshot of the results: View: https://imgur.com/a/LHvrV4O
.

I have downloaded and installed all chipset drivers from provided link.

As an aside, when I was testing problem just now, 1 minute after screen saver had initiated the pc fans spun up, then I waited another 2 minutes and it had not rebooted, so I moved the mouse and that seemed to trigger the reboot (now that I think about it, I remember this occuring previously sometimes too).

I have clean booted, according to the instructions on the link provided. This did not fix it.

Just to clarify, my PC doesn't show BSOD.
i might have been tired, most of the posts I answer here are bsod ones. I won't miss that part at all.

Vanguard might have a newer version, I seen a new driver name for it recently (anti cheat for Valorant)

Try running this and see if it offers anything new - https://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html

so its not sleep, its just the screensaver. Just wondering if its a power mode setting (do you use a Microsoft account to logon, as it could have settings saved to user). See answer here - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...i-put-it/202c1d5f-97a5-4cc3-b983-15ffbad4ac8f

Sometimes resetting the BIOS can help as it could just be a conflicting signal.

I'm not sure that updating Vanguard manually is possible. The reboot problem occured right after I had reinstalled Windows 11 Pro, before I had installed Valorant/Vanguard so I'm not sure that Vanguard is the issue.

I ran Intel Driver Support Assistant and it said all my drivers are up to date.

It is not sleep, just screen saver (and also when monitor is manually turned off).

I tried all the things suggested in the link you provided.

I've reset the BIOS and problem still persists.

I've just realized that I can set up a multi-boot and use Windows 10 Pro for my daily tasks and then Windows 11 Pro for the stuff that I need it for, so that's a bit of a work around, makes me feel a bit better. Still a very disheartening issue though, I'd really like to know if any of my hardware is the problem (so I can return it under warranty).
