HiAll

My windows 11 desktop suddenly started giving me problems last night.

It started with Error Code: 0xc0000225. A required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed.

After hard reboot, the desktop tookpassword but hanged up immediately or I could get to the desktop screen but mouse and keyboard dids not work. I have recharged my wireless mouse/keyboard, used another set and even a wired mouse.

Then I got 0xc0000001 error. Your PC couldn’t shut off properly.

I have reset the CMOS and reset the system time.

I have i5-10600K, MSI MPG Z490, 32 GB Ram (2 Sticks), and Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500 GB.

Fast boot is disabled.

I have done the following (via Google search)

X:\sources>bootrec /fixmbr

The operation completed successfully

X:\sources>bootrec /fixboot

Access is denied

X:\sources\bootsect /nt60sys

Target volumes will be updated with BOOTMGR compatible boot code

Bootcode was successfully updated on all targeted volumes

X:\sources>bootrec /rebuildbcb

Total Identified Windows installations = 0

X:\sources>diskpart

Volume ### Label Fs Type Size Status Info

Volume 0 F RAW DVD-ROM 2048 B Healthy

Volume 1 G RAW DVD-ROM 2048 B Healthy

Volume 2 C NTFS Partition 464 GB Healthy

Volume 3 FAT32 Partition 100MB Healthy Hidden

Volume 4 D NTFS Partition 705MB Healthy Hidden

Volume 5 E ESD-USB Removeable 14GB Healthy

Diskpart> select volume 3

Diskpart> assign letter=N

Diskpart successfully assigned the drive letter or mount point.

Diskpart> exit

X:\sources>N:

N:\EFI\Microsoft>cd boot

N:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot>attrib bcd -h -r -s

N:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot>ren bcd bcd.tem

A duplicate file name exists, or the file cannot be found.

N:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot>del bcd.tem

N:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot>ren bcd bcd.tem

N:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot>bootrec /rebuildbcb

Successfully identified windows installations

[1] C:\Windows

Add installation to bootlist? Yes(Y)/No(N)/All(A):A

The operation completed successfully.

N:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot>sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows

Beginning system scan. This process with take some time.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity problems.

N:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot>bcdboot c:\windows /s N: /f All

Boot files successfully created.

N:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot> exit

Remove USB drive

Choose an option / Continue Exit and continue to Windows 11

I got error 0xc0000001 this time. I have repeated this procedure few times, sometimes it hangs up right after entering password or at the desktop (mouse and keyboard do not work).

I am back to trouble shooting again (the last time before posting my message)

X:\sources>bootrec /fixboot

Access is denied

X:\sources\bootsect /nt60sys

Target volumes will be updated with BOOTMGR compatible boot code

Bootcode was successfully updated on all targeted volumes

X:\sources>bootrec /rebuildbcb

Total Identified Windows installations = 0

Diskpart shows no letter assigned to Fat32 partition.

I turned it off, removed usb drive. I get to the login screen. After putting my password, the desktop hangs with windows loading circle trying to login.

I have no idea what to do next (I live in country and I am 2 hours away from a computer repair shop or BestBuy)

Thanks

when you power it up again, immediately press SHIFT + F8 key, then Click on “See advanced repair options” and from the next screen, choose “Troubleshoot” then choose “Advanced Options” then choose “Windows Startup Settings” There you will find a button “Restart”. Click on this button and allow the wizard to complete all the steps.
