I’m trying to customize my Windows desktop based on a two monitor set-up. I use my secondary monitor in a vertical/portrait mode as a reading pane and system monitor. I open Spotify on this monitor and really anything that I’m keeping in the background to glance at (messaging, news, social, etc.).

My primary monitor I use for my work. I’m a voice actor and do recording and editing, any client Zoom meetings, writing, book keeping, and so on. And because it is my primary monitor, any gaming I do.

I’ve spent the last month trying to customize the look and feel of my virtual space using tools like Rainmeter, Start11, MyDockFinder, and have tried other third party software like Nexus, PowerToys, MultiMonitorTool, and more. I’m getting close to what I want to achieve but am now stuck and need help/advice.

My ideal setup would be to remove the Windows task bar and use the MyDockFinder dock instead. I’d create a start-up icon that could launch the Start11 application. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to do so as I can’t find a way to map the Start button behavior to a created png/ico.

My fallback was to move the taskbar to my secondary monitor and remove it completely (or hide it) on my primary monitor. However, unlike Windows 10, Windows 11 no longer allows this functionality. I could make my secondary monitor my primary monitor to move the task bar, but then everything opens on my vertical monitor including games.

I’m looking for suggestions and whether I can actually accomplish what I’d like to achieve.

Thank you both. I don't think I explained myself well enough though. I only want the taskbar on the secondary monitor. I do not want the taskbar on the primary monitor at all. The dock on the primary monitor would act as the taskbar.

It's truly aesthetic, and it seems doable, but I haven't figured it out.
