Every "feature" update that is optional initially gets rolled into next month security update. That's why they are called cumulative.

If ads ever appear, i bet they would be part of unlicensed Windows. Licensed Windows will never have ads that users cannot get rid of. Microsoft will try to bury the settings somewhere, and by default lump advertising subtly with widgets, news, weather and search results. They already do something like this.
