I am trying to install Windows XP 64bit edition on my new
computer. I have a motherboard that has onboard Serial ATA
but does not support native so I need drivers to install
windows. I have the drivers from my motherboard
manufacturer, but when I try to instal them after pressing
F6 at the begining of instalation, Windows claims the files
are currupt and won't us them. It then says that I have no
hardrive and prompts me to restat. The drivers work fine
when I installed Windows XP SP1 the 32bit eddition. I have
a n Asus K8V Deluxe Motherboard, an Athlon 64 3000+, and a
160gb Seagate hard drive. The company of the serial ATA
part of the board is Promise, and the Raid SATA part is
VIA. I currently have to use my hard drive in the Raid 0
SATA port, Windows XP (32) didn't recognize the Promise
part of the board. I hope someone can help out here. If
you know how to solve my problem can you please email me at
sweeney_shane251@yahoo.com? I don't think I'll be able to
come back to this site very often.

XP 64 is still in beta, the drivers on your CD are for the 32bit
version. You may find 64bit drivers on www.planetamd64.com
When you tried to install in 32bit XP did you press F6 when
prompted?

Shane;
Have you checked for availability for 64 bit drivers?
Your 32 bit drivers will not work.
Since 64 bit for extended systems is still in Beta, very few drivers
exist.
Try the 64 bit newsgroup:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/64bit/extended/trial/support.mspx
Yes, this server group is correct.
