Solution

And where are you located? In the US, any of the major retailers. Newegg, Microcenter, Amazon, etc, etc, etc.
The prices are very similar, unless you hit that particular version on sale.

will you loose all your files?
Maybe, maybe not.

Best way to ensure you don't is to copy them elsewhere first. That way, no matter what happens, you have all your critical stuff.
Generally, Windows will try to save your current 'stuff' in a folder called Windows.old. But if you make the wrong choices during the install, that won't happen.

Copy your stuff elsewhere first.

ok and where is the best place to buy a windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.?

Wouldnt windows.old be the old Windows, such as the 32 bit? As in if you dont have anything personal in the folder you can get rid of it?

1. Why are you resurrecting a 6 month old thread?
2. Depending on how you install it, there may or may not be a Windows.old. If you need any files from that, you can usually extract them.
3. Then get rid of that folder in Disk Cleanup.

Ok thanks!
