Windows 7 64 bit home premium, do i need to re purchase cds?

Hey guys, i wanna reformat my computer but i do not have all my old CD's. I can get the drivers from Acers website, and the windows 7 key is taped to the back of my computer. All i need is the data from the cds to initiate the reformat. Do i need to go buy new cds or can i download it online and put it on a usb drive to boot from. Thanks in advance!

or can i just use my acer erecovery management thing and not have to use any backup CD's?

1. Create a set of backup DVD's using e-recovery, download all drivers and burn to DVD, better safe than sorry.

2. Reinstall via these DVD's or press ALT-F10 or similar to do this from recovery partition.

3. Reinstall from Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEM DVD and use the key on the base, use the driver DVD to configure devices. I prefer this way as you don't get all the crap that manufacturers install.
