Windows 7 Brightness problem. Please help

Hello

I was using windows 8 and it was ok. But now i installed windows 7, and i get a weird problem.

When i increase the brightness, it is not increasing step by step. When i press the brightness increase button one time, the screen is full bright and if ipress the second time, it dims down fully and again if i press the brightness button, the screen is full bright. i know it is difficult to explain this. Can you understand what i am saying? please clarify my doubt.

Are you adjusting the brightness with the buttons on the monitor? Or is this thru Windows you are adjusting? Did you let windows update run and install the drivers for the monitor? So that when you go thru Control panel - Display - Screen Res the specs of the monitor is displayed?

I am using Lenovo laptop and i click the power icon which is at the down right near the time and date. I click the power icon and after that adjust screen brightness, then i will change the brightness icon which is below.

Go into your power management settings (Control Panel/Power Options). Edit your power profile and set Sleep to never.
