Windows 7 hdd to ssd

I was wondering if i couls completley move windows from a 1 tb hdd to a 120 gb ssd. I dont want the os on the hdd

You can't JUST transfer or clone the OS and ignore the rest of the files.

You would either need to:

1) Install Windows fresh on the SSD if you have your Windows installer disk and key

2) Move all data but the OS off your current HDD to an external backup and then clone the hdd to the ssd

(After putting Windows on the SSD from one of the choices above) If you had an external backup you could move all the data you wanted off the HDD, format the HDD drive, and then replace the data so that the old OS was no longer taking up room on the HDD drive.
