Windows 7 now lagging after a fresh install

I had installed fresh copy of windows 7 but now when I start my computer it lags terribly,my specs are 12GB ram,processor amd fx8320 with Asus motherboard . before formatting it was good didn't lag a bit, but now strangely lags after 5 min of starting .I can't even install programs on it . help me
