Windows 7 OEM

Hello. I have an (HP) OEM version of windows 7 and if I change the hard drive, I know I will lose the windows. But if I put another hard drive in and install windows 7 and put in the oem key on the side of the case, will it work? Thank you for the help.

It should, it pulls motherboard info for comparison so as long as it's the same you should be fine

What if I say that the hard drive that I'll change it with is also by HP and was in the same series of desktops. I guess I'll just risk it and see what happens

Yes you can change a hard drive , that does no affect the hp OEM license.

I have loaded several hp computers with new SSD's , no issues with the license OEM key.

Could it be? The legendary Blackbird? Haha thank you for the reply. I'm guessing all I have to do is replace hard drive and install windows, then activate with the key. Thanks!

Yes it should activate , only a board change would give you an issue.
