The chipset drivers allows a computer to communicate to a piece of hardware.
An INF is a file that gives the operating system information about a piece of hardware (ACPI, memory controller, audio, PCI, USB, etc) on the system. This information allows the Device Manager to display the correct piece of hardware.
Windows have issues even with the right .inf files and drivers, so common sense will dictate that you might not have a smoothly running system. It will be unpredictable at best.
You could extract and manually install the Windows 10 drivers.
