Windows 7 or 8 when 10 is around the corner?

Is there any reason to buy Windows 8.1 right now, when Windows 10 will be out next month? Why not buy Windows 7 to save some money?

No reason why not. But 7 isn't that much cheaper.
And getting 7 or 8.1 now gives you a little breathing room before deciding on whether and when to go with Win 10.

I'm gonna pick Win 7 since it's $30 cheaper and I'm on a budget, and I'll read some reviews on Win 10 in the gaming category when it's released to see how it's performing as to when to upgrade to it. And thanks for the answer

if you play games you may want to wait a bit. When new windows OS comes out games often have to be updated due to compatibility issues. I wont upgrade even if it was free. Id wait a while first. Plus maybe some old games will not work anymore
