Windows 7 Sees 8GB of RAM; says only 5.95GB usable

I know it's been able to use all of it before on the same install of W7. For no reason, I just noticed that it says 5.95gb useable. My motherboard acknowledges and gets information for each DIMM installed. What is going on?

Also, I seem unable to get into bios by pressing del key, I had to use msi-go-to-bios to get to bios to check.

start+r >msconfig>boot>advanced >maximum memory
make sure it is not ticked .
what speeds are they running at?

you have to turn off fast boot to get into the bios. at post. if your using onboard video or left it on it take about 1g of your system ram.

How many dimms are you using? Have you tried them 1 at a time?

Hey thats normal if you have an integrated gpu as it can use up to 4gb of available ram .but if you have an external gpu that's weird you should check your bios settings ..
