I just got my Windows 7 sticker in today from ebay and installed it on my laptop. Windows 7 runs like a dream on that system and I had so many problems with Vista on it it is crazy.

I have to say I like Windows 7 about the best of any OS MS has released. I think I was happier with XP when it came out but that is only from coming from the hell that was Win9x.

Good job MS!

[citation][nom]doc70[/nom]I noticed that Marcus can write some decent articles that can appreciate WinOS and it's accomplishments... Now if only he could do without the teeth grinding tone in the background, that would be great... Example: the PC industry has always been..."revitalized"[/citation]
What the hell are you talking about? The PC industry, along with almost all other consumer spending, has been in the sh*tter since the economic meltdown last year. Tech companies and their investors will be watching PC sales with a microscope throughout this holiday season and the first quarter of next year.

Because of Microsoft's Win 7 and Apple's overall corporate success over the last several years, these two companies are a major gauge for the entire technology industry!

From what I've been seeing on news sites and such, W7 is gaining market shares rather quickly. If this is any indication of the near future, I would expect to see the W7 market share hit double digits near the peak of the holiday season (or soon thereafter).

For a web site that focuses on crunching numbers in benchmarks you seem to have missed an important point. Sales were down 29% in the 2 weeks leading up to the release. That results in a net sales figure for the 3 week period 6% down.
There is no success here, PC's lost sales. This was just some smart people not buying a computer, and having to do a manual install of 7, and instead waiting a week and having a factory install of 7 ready to go.

@chrisv815

You need to understand what you are reading before you post.

Year over year 40% increase. 10/17/08 to 10/24/09.

This only includes 2 days of Win7. Just wait until after payday (4 days ago).

Your picking the wrong parade to rain on.

Win 7 is a success, accept it and go back to your linux or Mac.

I thought that Apple said about a month ago that we were all gonna be buying Macs this time around ( lol what retards indeed .. ) and I was amazed...

Anyhow, I expected this to happen and yeah, Windows 7 is well worth.
