Hello all,

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Sp1 and I noticed that in my computer it states that I only have 294 GB of free disk space from my 1TB HDD, but when I do the math of all my folders inside the C: drive (program files, users -there is only one user in my pc-, windows, etc including hidden files and folders) I barely get to 217 GB of used space.
Where is the rest 419 GB coming from? How can I manage the data in my HDD?

Thank you very much!

Solution
This is almost always due to system restore saving way too many restore points than it needs.

Control Panel -> System -> System Protection -> Configure

Under Disk Space Usage, there's a slider. It's probably set to something ridiculous like 50%. Move it down to a more sane value like 5%.
