Hi,
I have this problem with Windows 7 64-bit OS. When ever my PC goes into hibernation or sleep mode the monitor doesn't work properly.
Here's what happens exactly. The monitor goes almost black but I can see the mouse on the screen. When I press Ctrl+Alt+Del the page for logging off/ Starting task manager opens up. When I click on 'Start task manager' nothing happens. When I click on the shutdown button (bottom right corner) nothing happens.
Rebooting the system solves the problem. But it happens again when the system goes to sleep.
Online on a forum it was suggested to switch off the 'Link state power management' in the advanced settings of Power Option (Control Panel). It resolved the problem, but my family members have said that the problem has started again (thought I haven't observed it).
Any suggestions?
My PC specifications.
Intel i5 4440 CPU
Asus B85M-G Motherboard
Kingston HyperX RAM 2x4 GB
Sapphire AMD R9 270 2GB graphic card.
LG monitor 24 inch connected to the Graphic card
19.5 inch ViewSonic monitor connected to the motherboard
Reason I am mentioning the monitors is that the main screen connected to the GFX card shuts down after a few minutes of being blank (usually after trying to open task manager). The secondary display has power although no display.
Please Help. I have increased the sleep time to 1 hour waiting period for now.
Another issue may or may not be related. Sometimes the system starts and the display only works on the 19.5 inch screen. The main screen 24 inch doesn't work. I have to reboot and switch the displays 2-3 times and clear the CMOS to resolve it. It once got resolved when I cleaned the GPU to remove the dust.
Please help.
