Windows 7 SP1

I've updated my Windows 7 to SP1 and i want to know what does this Service Pack 1 means. Note that i have Windows 7 Ultimate 64

Service packs are basically antivirus updates and other useful updates that are combined in the form of a pack.

So you have SP1 it means you have updates and definitions for pack 1

As the months go on, new updates get combined to be released as SP 2 and SP 3

The advantage is, you don't have to download all the updates if you install a pre-packed Windows having SP1
