windows 7 takes up 70gb (no pagingfile,no hibernatefile)

You need to find out what is taking up the space. I might expect 20gb or so.
There are some free apps that will map out your usage.
If you did an upgrade install, your old windows will be in a file called windows.old which can be deleted.
