Hi again everyone,
My network consists of 3 computers, 2 are running Windows XP Pro and the last is running Windows 7 pro. Recently (I only noticed it today but it may have been like this for a while), I noticed that I couldn't see the XP machines under Network in explorer. I've tried pinging the two machines but the request times out.
From the XP machines, the windows 7 machine is visible in My Network Places, can be accessed (read and write) and pinged. I've checked that all of them are in the same workgroup; I've tried disabling IPv6 on the Windows 7 machine as was suggested on another forum; made sure that network discovery, and file and printer discovery are all on; turned off password protected sharing and none of those have rectified the problem. Any ideas?
Also, I've noticed that Public Folder Sharing is off on the Windows 7 machine but oddly enough, it doesn't affect any of the machines except for itself. When Public Folder Sharing is off, the 7 machine can't access it's own shared folders but the XP machines can.
The Windows 7 machine and one of the XP machines are connected to the router via wireless and the other XP machine is connected via cable. Not sure if this helps any.
Thanks,
Brendon
