[SOLVED] Windows 7 too sluggish

My laptop may not be exctly a power house in 2020(i7 6500U), but i'ts certainly good enough to be snappy on Windows desktop tasks such as opening programs and games. Well it's been taking ages to load up both windows and games.
I bought it with Windows 10 Home Single Language 64 bit and haven't toutched yet. What can i do now to make my laptop quicker...

use an external ssd as the boot drive. will speed up booting and loading of applications.
