Windows 7 Upgrade

Is there any way to use a windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade disc as a installation disc? Or would I have to go out and get another Windows installation disc and then use the upgrade disc?

yes you can use it as an installation disc

but i'm using it on a computer with no previous OS. So I would need an actual installation disc

you use the upgrade disc which is the same version as the key thats on the sticker on your pc

so if your pc has a windows 7 home license then you use 7 home upgrade

if your pc has windows 7 ultimate license sticker you use 7 ultimate upgrade

you then use the key thats on your pc to activate

as far as i understand this is allowed as you have a genuine key
