Hi so I just built my first pc and I went from having a $500 budget to spending $1000, and about near the end of the build I started looking for Windows software and freaked out when I saw it cost in the $100 range. so I heard on YouTube by this guy Paul's hardware that I can go to kinguin.net.

I paid about $20 to get a copy of Windows 7 home premium and I downloaded onto a usb, plugged it in and the computer recognizes the usb but when I click on the option it just goes into a black screen telling me to reboot and select proper boot drive.

I've gone into bios and turned off msi fast boot and I've tried to find secure boot so I can shut it off and prioritized the usb but so far nothing's working. I think that I got scammed or something and that I should just get a real legit copy from Best Buy but I wanted to see what you all thought first. Thanks for any help I really do appreciate it!

I don't know if this will help but here's what's in my build

• msi z97 pcmate
• xfx radeon r9 390
• Intel core i5 4460
• wd black 1 terabyte hard drive
• Intel 120gb ssd
• cooler master hyper 212 evo
• tp link tl-wn881nd
• nzxt s340 blue steel case

Solution
Windows 7 Product Key & Licence (?) for only $20? I'd be very surprised if that was legit.
Legit licences cost much more than that from a trusted source like Amazon.

I'm certainly not going to help you with it.
