Windows 7 VS 8

There is probably another post about this but I only need a quick answer. I am putting together a new PC build and I want an operating system. Should I buy Windows 7 or 8? I have preferred Windows 7 but I hear it will start losing ground to Windows 8 coming next year. Any opinions?

For games i know win8 perform better but its buggy and hard to known.

For gaming, go with windows 8, as windows 8 brings better fps to newer graphics cards and games.

But if gaming isn't a concern, then windows 7 is still a great option.

But if you still go with windows 8, you can get a custom start screen via 3rd party program also.

Alright thanks I was waiting on Windows 8 originally because of compatibility (Hamachi etc) but it seems to have gotten better now!
