Got a question for Ya'll geeks around here 😀 Basically, I'm planning on building a computer in the near future (and near, as in, When i get enough money) and, well, I'm deciding between Windows 7 and windows 8.1, as they are the same prices, I dont know which one to go for, Windows 8 has DX11.2, Which could possibly help in games like WoT and such for performance, but, windows 7 has a much "geek" friendly Interface, So, Which would you guys recommend?

EDIT: Also, Doesnt windows 8 screw up with the bios? (as in, You need to go through the startup of windows 8 to access bios? or is it just for Pre-buildbutts)

Solution
you should absolutely get windows 8. if you don't like metro install classic shell for free and turn the windows 8 junk off. There's no reason to "upgrade" to 8 but no one should be buying 7 anymore except in very special cases.

Windows 8 is internally a better OS and while the interface is awful its easily fixed. But the big reason is if you buy window 7 OEM you get to install it on one computer. period. if you change the motherboard your license is invalid. you can't reuse it if you build a new computer in a few years either. Windows 8 you can install on as many different machines as you like as long as its only on one at a time.
Pick whichever one is cheaper they both preform nearly identically for the vast majority of games and it doesn't take too long to get used to 8. I have never heard of that BIOS thing before I do have a laptop and AIO that are win 8 that I can access the BIOS just fine from.

The motherboard thing i haven't actually had any problems with, I've installed windows 7 from acer laptops onto my dell, Hasn't got pissed yet 😀 Anywho, I might as well get windows 8 if its THAT much better, Hopefully there isnt any driver bugs for my new system when i build it.

No it isn't. Each license key is per computer it may be transferred but installed on no more than one computer at a time. Only exception is the family pack which is licensed for up to three computers at a time. You can look up the agreements for all Microsoft products here.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/UseTerms/default.aspx

Not saying you can't do it. However, if you look at the license agreement legally you can't and Microsoft would be within their rights to block your activation key so that it would no longer work on any computer.

Yes, It is "Ilegal" to install one copy on more then 1 computer, BUT, it doesn't mean you cant do it. And, I only do it IF im not gonna be using that laptop with windows 7 (Basically just transfering the OS from one pc to the other) And, I don't see how MicroSponge could get your system id's and such and bolt it to your Code... Just doesn't make sense, Anyways, Thanks for the help guys!
