Windows 7 won't load

Last night my desk was shutting down and it was sitting at the shutting down screen for a few minutes so I just did a hard shutdown. Well now this morning when I tried to power on my desktop it would go through a few boot menus and when it was supposed to show the prompt menu for me to choose between Vista and 7 it would just have a blank screen with my monitor showing it has signal. I tried popping in the Win7 install disc and it would let me choose my OS but then go to another blank screen. Now, for some reason, I can get it to let me choose and OS without the disc in but now it goes to the Starting Windows screen and just sits there. I let it sit there for over an hour and still nothing. I have tried safe mode, last good configuration, repair, and I even tried to reinstall but it keeps just sitting and doing nothing.

Any ideas?

If you did a hard reset while Windows was writing to disk, you have broke your windows. Try and run a suitable version of CHKDSK, otherwise you will have to reinstall the OS.

How do I reinstall the OS when it sits at the same screen once it loads the files?

Nevermind I figured out one of my hard drives died on me so I have everything running now.
