Windows 8.1 Compatible Webcam Help!

Hey guys, I need to get a webcam (with mic preferred) that is compatible with windows 8.1. I'm having trouble clarifying which ones are and aren't so any suggestions are appreciated.

Well I had bought the Logitech C310 and when I plugged it in and installed the drivers, it was not recognized.

thats a bum driver or a bum device. the Logitech c310 is compatible with windows 8, if it's not working it's because you purchased a broken device or tried to install the wrong drivers for it.

As the other one is! Please tell us, what you exactly mean by 'it is not recognized'? I'm sure, it's not the model, the problem is somewhere else.

Well I plugged in the usb and installed the driver and software, then I tested it out on the actual software and the screen was just black

All fixed now. I found a Quickcam Communicate STX in my house and although it's 10 years old, it still works with a perfect mic. Thanks for your help😀
