For several months now my PC will randomly spike to 100% usage on the Disk department, effectively slowing my PC down to a crawl and I can't find the solution for the life of me.
I must have been through hundreds of forums trying to solve it, but none seem to have worked whatsoever.
I'm not very good with computers, but I'm basically at a loss as to what it could be, but I've been following guides on how others solved it and none have worked.

I ran and HDDscan and everything looked fine apart from "ultradma crc errors" which I have no idea what means or implies. Please help

Solution
I'd suggest upgrading to SSD. :)

If you wan't to find out, what exactly is causing 100% disk usage, you can do that with Resource Monitor - disk activity section.
Consider upgrading to SSD.
Currently there are several windows services capable of causing 100% HDD usage:
  • windows updates;
    windows defragmenter;
    malicious software removal tool;
    windows defender;
    search indexer.
Udma crc errors may signal about bad hdd data cable, overheating of storage controller on motherboard or overheating of hdd itself.
