windows 8.1 faulty install

I just got done building my computer and was installing windows 8.1 before it was done installing it went to the blue recovery screen reading error code 0xc000000e contacted microsoft they said get a new disk of windows 8.1 and try again does anyone know another way

Try again with the same disk. If it doesn't work, get it exchanged. If that doesn't work, it's not windows.

I already tried with the same disk so ill try getting it exchanged if its not the disk what could it be

Could be your hdd. Was it formatted when you installed windows 8.1, or were you upgrading something that was there? Is it a seagate hdd?

Any clicking noises coming from your pc?

Its a western digital and I was installing the first operating system for that computer so nothing was on it before that

No no noises seems to run great besides windows not working

Try another OS just to see if it works. You can always format and get rid of it when you get your new disc. Ubuntu is free. You could also try an older version of windows, if you have any copies.

Correct me if im wrong im still fairly new to computers but wont it just try booting windows 8.1 if I have a different op system in or will it switch and start installing the new system

Install on a seperate partition. Operating systems give you that option when inatalling. You may have the option to format the hdd and get rid of that faulty install. If you keep both, you'll have the option when your computer boots.

If you put a disc in, it will install from the disc upon booting.

Ok so just go into bios and make sure the optical drive is first on boot menu im guessing

If you think it's the disk, could try d'loading the ISO from here

You'll need your Product Key, and decide whether to install from DVD or USB

i reordered my ssd and hard drive re installed and is working fine now what the problem was idk
