Item I'm talking about: http://www.amazon.com/Windows-8-1-System-Builder-64-Bit/dp/B00F3ZN2W0/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

I bought a copy of Windows 8.1 System Builder OEM from Amazon.com
I received it today, and looked up some OEM license information to find these links:
http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensing/sblicensing/Pages/windows-licensing-for-personal-use.aspx#fbid=U8Z1KHrv2jL
http://www.howtogeek.com/197232/microsoft-is-misleading-consumers-with-windows-8.1-system-builder-licensing/

Basically, these links say that I am not allowed to use this copy of Windows for personal use, and it's only for preinstallation on a machine for resale. I read reviews on the product before buying it, and most were talking about opinions on Windows 8.1, and the 1 star reviews just talked about how complicated it was. I failed to read the product description because I wasn't aware of Microsoft changing their Licensing.

Should I be worried, or does this version of windows still work fine?

Ahem....YOU BUILT THIS SYSTEM YOURSELF DIDN'T YOU?

If so......then you are fine. But, the license is not transferable to another computer. I just built a system myself and went this route.

I might have come across snarky, which wasn't my intent. What I was getting at, is that who's to say whether you built it or not? In reading my answer, it appears I was rudely reminding you of the obvious, which in this case, isn't obvious. MS seldom makes anything obvious, or consistent. This issue is no different. The important thing is that once installed this license is tied to that particular set of hardware, whatever that means.
