windows 8.1 tablet not connecting to router via wifi - says 'Can't connect to this network'

I have a new Windows 8.1 tablet that I'm trying to connect to my Netgear router. When I try to connect it returns the message 'Can't connect to this network'. I've tried using it with WPS and by entering the security key manually and get the same response. There are 2 desktops, 2 Android phones and an Android tablet already connecting successfully. Can anyone help?

There are many possibilities, but the problem is either with the tablet or the router.
If you can connect to other network, that means you need to check the router settings.
If you have admin access to the router, check if there are any restrictions settings activated that prevent new connections added to the network

check the router setting it's been set to auto channel, it might be set to limited.
