I am new to Windows 8 and just got a new desktop. I installed the graphics driver and the screen still has a black border regardless of trying to properly adjust it to fit. The monitor is Asus 23634 LED HD Monitor. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Should be as simple as right clicking on an open spot on your desktop ... select screen resolution .... click on highest resolution ( which will be the max for your display and probably click on landscape if you have a 16:9 monitor ...if not...... it will show best config for your set up !

Another way to manually set the resolution is to go to right click on your desktop and click screen resolution. On the second display (your monitor) click advanced settings. This should bring up a pop up box showing the specs and properties of the second display. Go to your graphics control panel - mine says Intel(R) HD Graphics Control Panel (it's an old TV :L) change the display from Built-in-Display to whatever your second display is. Again mine says digital Television. After that you should be able to change the scaling to customize aspect ratio and change the screen size to fit your needs.

Hope this helps someone,
