Guys!!

Im really stuck here. I have received a laptop given by my client to downgrade windows 8 to windows 7. Everything seems to be haywire. I tried a bootable win 7 dvd and a bootable USB stick but none seem to be working! It's a HP 15-d008TU. I have already downloaded the drivers for win7 64bit from HP site.

I just have one day left. Any step by step help would be gladly appreciated :)

What software did you use to make the bootable usb?

You didnt list what steps youve tried?

Go into the Bios and change the boot order to the CD or USB device as first. You may need to disable secure boot in the Bios.

Could you clarify what's not working? Are the DVD/USB not booting? Or do they boot, but fail to install?

If the former, then per others' suggestions, change the boot order in the BIOS.

I did disable secure boot.

Both the dvd and the usb key are not working! i regularly use the same dvd and the usb to format other machines.

I even changed the boot order, but nuthing seems to be working.

I created the bootable usb key refering to an online guide and indeed was a success cuz i use it daily and its 100% working.

After inserting the bootable dvd it just doesnt boot, and gets stuck at the blank screen, on ejecting the disk it starts to boot to win 8! strange 🙁 plz help

Let us know if you get Win 7 installed

Wohoooooo!!

I could finally install WIN 7 !!

Steps i followed since i couldnt see Legacy Boot option :

1.Updated to latest BIOS (downloaded from HP site)

2.Enabled Legacy boot from BIOS.

3.Booted through USB Stick

4.Successfully Installed win 7 + drivers

Everythings working perferctly i.e Wireless, ethernet , Graphics , Chipset etc. No problems found yet.

Thank you all for the help :)
