Forgive me if this is the wrong section.
I was on my PC when it suddenly froze. It was like that for a few minutes so I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del and clicked sign out, but it just stayed on the sign out screen for a while so I manually reset it. When it turned on, after the post screen it just showed a black screen with the little flashing underscore. So I went into the BIOS and it wasn't showing my main boot drive. I changed it to my other drive but same thing happed. Turned it off, changed SATA cables to other slot, reset BIOS and it turned on. It said the PC ran into problems, started repairing disk.
Now it's turned on and booted. But EVERYTHING from the start screen is gone, although I'm currently using Start8, so that doesn't matter. The only Metro app that's working is settings , the others just show a blank screen. Some programs won't open, like Steam and any games installed. A Magix trial opens though. Chrome and Firefox won't open. IE will, but nothing will download, so I can't reinstall Chrome, or even any small programs. I'm not even able to add an add on for IE. Pictures won't open, because it says I don't have the latest photo viewer, and it doesn't show the option to open with the Metro photo viewer, although videos do open.
So right now some programs open some don't, and I'm not seeing any kind of pattern. Same for files. And I can't download anything. Any ideas?
