windows 8 or 8.1

hello guys i was wondering about which to get windows 8 or 8.1 immediately for my new pc also is there any reason not to go for windows 8 or 8.1 and go for 7 instead?

Win8 can be swapped to a new computer a couple of times with its "home user license " . Get the 64 bit version .
Doesnt matter if its 8 or 8.1 since 8 will update to 8.1

If you dont like metro then add a start button . I use Classic Shell

I've had no trouble moving Win 7 to different machines over the years. Sometimes I have to call in to activate and sometimes I don't. Bottom line is, Win 7 isn't locked to a motherboard.

But imo the OP should go for 8.1.

The license or oem 7 definitely locks it down , but sometimes they are generous .
Its also a mistake to assume that MS give that option to people in every country . They dont , and we do not know where the OP is from .

You may also have a retail license that lets you move 7 but costs more
