I'm trying to install a network printer on my new Lenovo Thinkpad with Windows 8.1 Pro. The printer is a Panasonic DP-C322. When I try to install it, I get to the point where I can type the printer name. When I hit next, It looks like it's starting to install it. I get a pop box user account control asking if I want to allow the following program to make changes to my computer. I click yes. It continues to install but goes right back to the screen that I can type a printer name.

Thanks
Mike

I am having the exact problem on another Windows 8.1 machine. It happens to also be a Lenovo Thinkpad.

Have you found a solution yet?

I've tried the Windows 7 (beta) drivers, for this printer, with the same "looping" result.

Hi folks,

Same problem for me : Windows 8.1 (Update 1) on a Lenovo laptop. Installating a network printer infotec 2838. When I choose the appropriate driver, pop up box asking if I allow installation, clicking yes, and returns to previous step, asking to choose a driver... endlessly !

Lenovo seems to be common in our problem. Does any of you find a solution so far ?

I used a generic driver that allow me to make basic printings, but I cannot use all the features of my printer, i.e. frustrating !

Thanks in advance.

I'm back with a solution !

Cause of the problem : trying to install unsigned driver.

Solution : disable driver signature verification in windows 8.1 (just search those keywords on your favorite search engine), reboot and install the faulty driver. You will then receive a warning saying the driver is not signed, but you will be allowed to install it.

Hope it helps
