Windows 8 to windows 7

I just bought a brand new windows 8 toshiba pc. i didn't want windows 8 and asked the tech guys if they could put in windows 7 instead. they told me that it wasn't possible to go from windows 8 to windows 7. i thought i could just boot from my flash drive and install a fresh install of windows 7 and it wouldn't matter what was on the hard drive cause it would just reformat it anyways. so i guess my question is would there be any possible reason as to why my hard drive wouldn't be able to take windows 7 if it has windows 8 on it.

Does Toshiba make Windows 7 drivers for that machine?

unless you hevw win8 PRO (Win 7 is then a 'FRree Dowmgrade), you'll have to buy Win 7 for that laptop if there are drivers.
