windows 98se floppy disk

The CDROM for Windows 98 isn't bootable, you need a DOS boot disk which is a floppy to load the CDROM and then install from that.

Yes, it's that old. Once or twice we've actually needed to dust off Windows 98 at the repair shop which employs my esteemed self, for various specific reasons.

Im a huge classic gamer so I have a gateway 2000 g6-300 the reason why I want to update us because I heard that win98se run smoother then win95 and I have a sound blaster 5.1 digital and I only works on win98 se so now im really try to update I also have a floppy disk drive in my pc

Can you get drivers for Win 2000? Windows 2000 is based on NT, not DOS like win 98se so drivers will NOT be compatible between them. There is Windows ME (though that was a buggy version of Windows with tons of stability problems)

For old games, maybe you should look into DOSBox.

Win98, W2000.....15 yrs old vs 13 yrs old. Both long discontinued. I still have a working Win2000 install. An old laptop, turned on maybe once or twice a year. Just to connect to the car and run diagnostics. When that finally dies, I'd not pay actual money to buy another Win2000 install to try to reproduce it. I'd move on with newer equipment.

Usafret I dont think you understand I dont want nothing newer then windows 2000 the only reasonI still have this old computer is for classic gameing like quake 3 unreal gta and other games the drivers arent gonna be a problem for me I have a voodoo 3 2000 graphics card a sound blaster live 5.1 digital and a ethernet card all of these driver arent hard to find like OS like win 98, 98se, 2000, and xp
